M.C. So - Chief Director, Drama Production

Let me share my shooting experience first. When I was a production assistant for the drama “Down Memory Lane”, I have been to Conghua city in Guangdong Province for shooting a fugitive scene, which required 200 temporary talents every day. By that time, drama production support in China was not as well developed as now and there was no agency to help on the recruitment. Therefore, we invited the villagers who lived around to join our shooting, which was indeed a great challenge on effective coordination. Eventually, the 10-day shooting was completed smoothly and all of us were very satisfied with the arrangement on every aspect.

The duties of a Production Assistant are to help the Director to prepare everything for drama production, as the second leader at on-site shooting. To be an outstanding Production Assistant, the candidate must be conscientious, psychologically well prepared and enthusiastic. Despite it is going to be a tough job, you can gain job satisfactions from it. For me, being a Director fulfills my interest in shooting and broadens my horizon on life and social visage. Thus, I never get bored throughout these years.

If you would like to broaden your horizon and realize your dreams, welcome on board.

Chu Kang Ki - Creative Director

Creative work is miraculous. Little things like a five-dollar coin can build the heroically tragic life of “Laughing Gor” (character in TV drama “E.U.”), which led to over hundred thousands of audiences mourning him on the Internet, resulting in a “reborn” of the character in a later stage. This miracle was all come up by the script writers.

I do believe that starting from the second half of 2012, there will be keen competition in the television industry, and an unprecedented TV era is coming. In this environment, only those with genuine talent can survive.

What I appreciate most about HKTV is that it enables tremendous autonomy for creativity and production. If you wish to unleash your creativity and potential, HKTV is the best choice for you.

Henry Yeung - Associate Director, Network Development

When I joined the company in 1999, we had 600 talents only, focusing on fixed network business. In 10 years time, we expanded to be one of the leading companies in the telecommunication industry with over 3,000 talents. Currently, the Group strives to expand its foothold in the TV industry.

Our Company culture encourages close communication between management and field talents. We conduct review meetings every week with talents from the production team, which helps us to keep abreast of the latest market intelligence and company development.

The communication between departments is effective. No matter how professional we are in our own aspect, it's vital to know what other people is doing. For instance, talents from the production team have to understand what marketing colleagues are trying to achieve. The company emphasises inter-department communication to keep the talents posted about different departments’ latest update.

In recent years, the company has placed a lot of emphasis on promoting a work-life balance. We all work extremely hard, but the company reminds us that we have to take care of our mental and physical health and our family's well-being, too. For example, we were among the first companies to adopt a 5-day week. Meanwhile, we have a psychological counseling consultant to help Talents exploring life and live their dreams. We also take part in the Standard Chartered Marathon every year. We take this very seriously, training on two evenings every week! Our chairman Ricky trains with us, and also employs a coach for the team.

Ricky really leads the whole company to constantly innovate and transform. He's very bold and so our company is not afraid to try new things.
